Chinmay means super consciousness 

It is not the day to day consciousness!

Ordinarily, consciousness is physical 

You are metaphysical  consciousness!

Metaphysical is beyond the physical

The screen  you  gaze at  is  physical

Beyond this is another screen which 

Goes beyond the physical & mental!

The inner screen pulsates with light

Physical  is  sustained  by that light!

Physical  dies, that light is immortal 

Know that  you’re  bewitching  light!

Happy birthday to you dear Chinmay 

You are lucky, you were born in May!

Keep on searching your  inner screen

You may  stumble on a  pristine  way!

 Hi Pollyanna I got my honey 

For some honey makes money!

For me it’s simply charismatic 

You know, it makes me sunny!

For all this I’m indebted to you 

And equally, to your sister Ritu!

It is so elfin to see that all three 

Sisters joyfully like cuckoos, coo!

Hope to see you all three together 

For me it will then become easier 

To know one in one go! As of now

It taxes me, tell one from the other!

A Bag of Mangoes

Yesterday I was offered a bag of mangoes 

Mango is the fruit of my choice, as it goes.

Not for nothing is mango, the king of fruits 

In its configuration, mellowness overflows!

As I picked up a mango, I thought of Thay 

Ya, Thich Nhat Hanh, lovingly called Thay.

He was Buddhist monk, Vietnamese, exiled 

Soulfully delivered mindfulness, all the way!

I saw the sun douse mango , in its warmth

And the wind rock it, within its bandwidth.

The rain drenched it with love; & the earth 

Nourished, whilst birds furnished all mirth!

It was picked, packed, and brought to me

How many hands had shared love for me?

It’s the manifestation of God’s love for all 

His magic runs the show, and it is all free!

I got afresh,  a mango bag,  from Pollyanna 

Earlier bag too,  had been,  from Pollyanna!

I mean the same unwaveringly cheerful and 

Irreversibly optimistic presence, Pollyanna!!

नीरज जी की याद में

 शाम ढल गई यूँ ही 

पंछी उड़ चले यूँ ही 

आख़िरी किरण मिली 

आँख मचल गईं यूँ ही 

और मैं थका थका 

वक़्त से झुका झुका 

शाम को समेट कर

बाहों में बटोर कर 

साथ तो मिला नहीं, राह देखता रहा 

सिमट रही शाम का सिंगार देखता रहा।

लो सुबह भी हो गई 

चाँदनी बिखर गई 

रात भर न सो सकी 

वो आँख भी खुल गई 

बादलों की ओट में 

धूप भी सिमट गई 

वक़्त सो गया, या कि 

फ़िर से वो खो गया 

बुलबुलों का गान भी सिमट सिमट रह गया 

और मैं खड़ा खड़ा 

आस्ताँ पे रुका रुका 

सूनी इक पतंग को, उड़ती देखता रहा l

सुबह में शाम की, झलक देखता रहा।

सहर गई सिहर गया 

सहरा में सरक गया 

आँख की किताब में 

फ़िर से मैं फ़िसल गया 

दर्द बने रहगुज़र 

राह के हमसफ़र 

वो कौन याद आ गई 

बार बार रुला गई 

दिल को थाम के मैं 

साँस को पकड़ के मैं 

दरख़्त के नाम से, फ़लक को देखता रहा 

सैलाबे अश्क़ को, मैं, अर्क़ बोलता रहा।

आस्ताँ = doorstep सहर = सुबह। सहरा = रेगिस्तान 

रहगुज़र = रास्ता।हमसफ़र = सह यात्री।फ़लक = आसमान।

सैलाबे अश्क = आँसुओं का दरिया।अर्क़ = पसीना।

शिव और शक्ति

 नारी शक्ति, पुरुष है शिव 

शक्ति के बिन शिव हैं शव 

शिव बिन शक्ति दिशाहीन 

दोनों के मिलन से है  वैभव।

शिव चेतन, शक्ति अवचेतन 

शिव कीर्तन, शक्ति संकीर्तन 

शिव  धारणा, शक्ति  प्रेरणा 

शिव नीलगगन, शक्ति आँगन।

शिव बादबान, शक्ति बाग़बान 

शिव आनबान, शक्ति मेहरबान 

शिव  परेशान , शक्ति  मुस्कान 

शिव निगहबान, शक्ति क़ुरबान।

ये जोड़ी अनूठी, अति आवश्यक 

ये जोड़ी स्वाभाविक और रोचक 

एक के बिना  यहाँ दूसरा अधूरा 

बनते हैं दोनों एक दूसरे के पूरक!

बादबान = नाव खेने वाली पाल 

बाग़बान = बगीचा सँभालने वाला/वाली 

निगहबान = सुरक्षा देखने वाला/वाली

बुद्ध का मार्ग

 जिस मार्ग पर चलते रहे थे बुद्ध 

वही मार्ग जाना जाता है  विशुद्ध 

मन को मिलती है शान्ति वहाँ पे 

भटकने पर मिलते हैं  सिर्फ़  युद्ध।

दुख अनिवार्य है, बुद्ध ने  कहा है 

निवारण सम्भव है, ये भी कहा है 

दुख जन्म लेता लालसा रखने से 

लालसा का गर्भ भूत भविष्य में है।

जब हम भूत या भविष्य में रहते हैं 

लालसा का निर्माण करते रहते हैं 

वर्तमान में  करिश्मा  हो  जाता  है 

लालसा के  पद चाप  रुके रहते हैं।

जब भी हम साँस उथली कर लेते हैं 

भय, लालसा, क्रोध को जन्म देते हैं 

साँस के गहरी होते ही, आप पायेंगे 

प्रेम व करुणा उत्पन्न होने लगते हैं!

इसे ही बुद्ध का मध्यम मार्ग कहते हैं 

क्रोध की जगह प्रेम करुणा ले लेते हैं 

लालसा मौन में परिवर्तित हो जाती है 

भंते एक निरापद जीवन जीने लगते हैं।

बुद्धम् शरणम् गच्छामि!

जीवन बहती धारा है

यह  जीवन  बहती  धारा है 

कभी नदिया कभी सहारा है 

अहं ने जब जब छलाँग भरी 

तब तब  ही  ख़ुद से  हारा है!

हर दिन  दुल्हन सी  नवेली है 

हर  दिन  एक  नई  पहेली  है 

हर लम्हा रब की  अठखेली है 

न समझ पाओगे, अलबेली  है!

अपना  काम  बस  बहते  रहना 

जिधर बहे नदिया उधर ही बहना 

अपना केवट, रब  ही तो आख़िर 

उसी  के साथ  सदैव  बने  रहना!

जब  जब  साँसें  गहरी  होती  हैं 

देखना, तमन्नाएँ  कमतर होती हैं 

मन के मौन में हो जाता  इज़ाफ़ा 

रब  संग  पैठ  बढ़ने लग जाती है।

सहारा = रेगिस्तान।रब = ईश।केवट = नाविक।

कमतर = और कम।इज़ाफ़ा = बढ़ोतरी।पैठ = पहुँच।
