I know well

I know well  that I  don’t  know 

All things that I wanted to know.

The more I try to learn & master 

The less I find is all that I know!

But the conversance is rewarding

As the sequel is chiefly humbling.

It rids me of most misconceptions

That aid cheekiness  into inflating!

Knowing sans true  understanding 

Fuels only more misunderstanding. 

One can annex infinite superlatives 

And not know he’s a human being!

A human being is strangely unique 

For this being aids its own critique!

Transcending one’s physicality calls

For a manoeuvring that is , oblique!

Only a human being can use its head

As though the head was a launch pad!

Going from physical to metaphysical 

Is like transmuting  wed  into  unwed!

Truth is a pathless land, spoke Jiddu 

It’s a clear statement without an ado!

All one has to do is to grow receptive 

Get inside to see, what one has to do!

कैसे मैं गाऊँ अब मेरे गीत ?

कैसे  मनाऊँ अब  वो  दिवाली , कैसे  मैं  गाऊँ  अब  मेरे  गीत?

मिलके जलाते थे हम सब दीप, मिलके ही गाते थे हम वो गीत।

अँधेरा मिटा दे दिल से हमारे, उसी को तो कहते हम हें दिवाली 

रोशन  हो  जाए डाली  डाली, ऐसे  ही  तो  सब मनाते दिवाली।

मायूसियों से  दरपेश  हूँ  मैं, अरसा  हुआ, कोई  गाया  न  गीत।

हर साँस जो भी मुझ में है बहती, अपनी कहानी हरदम है कहती 

मासूमियत से कभी सुन जो लेता, देखो क्या है बयाँ है वो करती।

कैसे कोई किसी से ये पूछे , वो ये बता  दे कि खोया  क्या  मीत?

दिवाली मनाना आसान है क्या, ख़यालों के साये क्यों पूछते हें?

किसी को भुलाना भी मुमकिन है क्या, वादे पुराने क्यों पूछते हें?

क्या ये मेरा शग़ल सच नहीं कि , ख़ामोशियों में  पलते हें गीत?

मुझको ख़बर है चराग़े मुहब्बत, कैसे मसलसल  जलता रहा है 

कैसे तड़पता हुआ भी ये दिल , खुदी से बदस्तूर मिलता रहा है।

अकेले में आना अकेले में जाना, अकेले में ये भी निभानी है रीत।
