Happy Rakhi at Rakshabandhan!

She  was  being  dragged  by  her  hair

To  wit , she  was  a princess  debonair!

It  happened  inside  a  royal  assembly 

Dignified stalwarts were  seated  there!

Hold it! Monstrosity was yet to be seen

She was being  undressed for the scene!

No stir, no hand moved to clasp the hilt

As though, the brazenness was routine!!

Help came from Krishna who called  her 

KRISHNE as she tore off a strip from her

Saree to dress Krishna’s wounded finger!

It was hurt in killing Shishupal the sinner.

Krishna willed & the incredible happened 

KRISHNE’S  saree won’t come to an end!

The bully kept on pulling it but Krishne’s

Modesty remained unscathed until the end!

A strip of saree tied onto Krishna’s finger

Became the salvation band, rakhi, for her!

Festival of rakhi is called Rakshabandhan 

i.e. security bond! Hail to the cheerleader!

ये जो हम मना रहे रक्षाबन्धन

ये बन्धन नहीं है , है अनुबन्धन

ये जो धागा अपनों ने  बाँधा है 

ये प्रेम का ही तो  है गठबन्धन।

साड़ी चीर के निकाला था चीर  

अंगुली के चीरे पे बाँधा था चीर 

भरी सभा में  इस राखी ने, नहीं 

करने दिया था  हरण,  वो  चीर।

प्रेम बिना भला कहाँ है  जीवन 

प्रेम से ही तो मिलता संजीवन 

मिलना है यदि ख़ुद से, प्रभु से 

प्रेम से प्रेम  का करें  आवाहन। 

क्या आपको  होता है आग़ाज़ 

रब  कभी  होता  नहीं  नाराज़ 

प्रेम का बन्धन है  कुछ  ऐसा

नासाज़  नहीं होता  ये  साज़।

रक्षाबन्धन की शुभ कामनाएँ।

A Messenger of the Messiah!

A  Messenger   of  the  Messiah?

Isn’t that a pulchritudinous idea?

When the time is ripe it happens!

It has been there. It’s an old idea!

The coeval looks like a battlefield 

Conflict  creeps  into   every  field.

Be it a country, islet or a continent!

It’s inside our body too, concealed!

Be it  religion , language  or  breed

Skin colour , accent or one’s creed

All  fields  merge  into  battlefields!

Conflicts arise if  minds are  sealed!

All we need is arrays of open minds

Minds open to the sun, moon, winds

Trees & flowers, the skies and  birds!

For battle-free zones, they’re shields!

Nature is natural, stays in the original 

There’s  nothing liminal, all  is  initial.

Living with nature is  a  sure fire  way 

To drub the mundane for the supernal!

And then the soul merges into  oversoul

Working like a shield becomes the goal!

And a shield she is for the  rehabilitants

I talk of Lindsay Satterfield, angelic soul!

Lindsay is linden tree &  satter is shield!

For the needy she is shelter and  a shield!

Be it he or she, white or red, dark or grey 

She stands in orison mode , doesn’t yield!

She is messenger of the Messiah, Gurumai!

May hear her knock, if there’s painful sigh!

Gurumai is the soul  of  SYDA  anchorage 

Sitting atop of a hill, under the Catskills sky!

पोस्टमैन?

 जो दिल में था , आँखों में पढ़ लिया 

पूछने की ज़रूरत न थी , देख लिया।

जाना ज़रूरी न था, मज़बूरी में गये 

मेहरबानी कर दी , यादें छोड़ते गये।

पहिले पाना, फ़िर खोना, फ़िर रोना 

क्या इसे ही कहते हें हयात का होना ?

क़रीब आना और फ़िर दूर चले जाना 

क्या दिल से पूछा जब हुए थे रवाना ?

आईने से दोस्ती कीं होती, ठीक रहता 

दिल की बात मसल्सल बताता रहता।

कैसी हें आपा, एक दिन तबस्सुम ने पूछा 

सुरैय्या जी ने कहा , तुमने  भी ख़ूब  पूछा ।

कैसी गुज़र रही है , सभी पूछते हें मुझसे 

कैसे गुज़ारती हूँ, कोई नहीं पूछता मुझसे।

देव साहब ने कहा है , मेरा सलाम कह देना, बेबी 

आपा शर्मा गईँ, बोलीं मेरा शुक्रिया कह देना बेबी ।

लफ़्ज़ हें कि एकबारगी , ख़ुशबू भर देते हें

ज़िन्दगी को यादों का , तोहफ़ा दे  देते  हें।

कोई पास रहे या दूर रहे, दुआ करता हूँ सलामत रहे 

मीठी सी यादों की इबारत , इबादत सी सलामत रहे ।

हयात = ज़िन्दगी। मसल्सल = लगातार ।

तबस्सुम=मुस्कान। सुरैय्या = सुरीली ।

आपा = बड़ी बहिन।इबारत = पदावली।
