Who'll raise hand against golden fleece?
A raised hand would be flabbergasting
Yet, one thing that is in deficit, is peace!
People want peace, all of us want peace
In our heart of hearts we crave for peace
We go places, we go to the highest peaks
To caves in the wilderness, to seek peace.
We seek the grace of yogis and saints
We go to temples and offer our plaints
We take a dip in all the hallowed rivers
Hoping it will wash all the varied taints.
Yet peace deludes us, wherever we look
Earth is strife ridden to its farthest nook
Man fights man, trounces him, kills him
Be he friend or foe, gentleman or crook.
We look for peace where it doesn't exist
We're always playing the game of whist
We are outward-facing and hence never
Look inside where peace awaits its tryst!
Today is The International Day Of Peace
Time to, pent up misconceptions, release
The only way is to look inside and become
A peacenik and a member of Greenpeace!
