Birding in Madison, AL

There  comes  an  Eagle flying
From behind the cypress trees.
It    looks   like   it   is   floating
Under  the   blue   bright   skies.

It  is  a  sunny  day, very  inviting
After  the  misty  days of  winter.
But the wind is chilly &  piercing
Else it is full of spring splendour.

See a  flock of red chest  Robins
Twitching   tails   while   singing.
I can see some sprightly  Wrens
In upright tails & brown clothing.

Here is  a Warbler in bay belly
Frisking and  warbling a  ditty.
Here’s a Finch in streaky belly
Chirping a  cheery  nitty  gritty.

Here's a Cardinal in its red robe
Majestic in a pointed  red  crest.
A song bird in a small wardrobe
Is the Chickadee, my next guest.

I love birds for they are finespun
Exhibit grace, flying in air  space.
Birds see the first ray of  the sun
And give import to  empty space.

Om Shantih
Ajit Sambodhi.
